In these first weeks of class, the Senior Theology class has begun seeking a definition of humanity through the lenses of such great thinkers as Aristotle and Fr. Robert Spitzer. This working definition will become a foundation point for much of the course work this year as we explore everything from an improved prayer life with St. Francis DeSales to Catholic Social Teaching with Augustine, St. Leo XIII, St. John Paul II, and many more. Here is a brief reflection on the work we have begun.
The image "Victory, O Lord" visually depicts three essential truths of our faith. 1. In this life, faith will always involve difficulty and suffering. 2. God is present in that suffering and affects His victory. 3. We are not meant to work alone, we need the support of the community to live this life. Further, we need to support the community that they might live theirs.
