DeSales Catholic High School will be producing plenty of laughs it presents the female version of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple.
Instead of Felix Unger and Oscar Madison, this version spotlights Florence Unger and Olive Madison, who share Olive’s apartment after Florence separates from her husband. The two polar opposites must learn to live together, and, of course, hilarity ensues. Neil Simon's hilarious contemporary comic classic has been transformed to a female version. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.
*Please note that there is mild adult content and situations in this play that may not be suitable for children.*
This is DeSales’ first first Spring play (at least in a very long time) and the cast is mostly comprised of upper classmen for this production. Mary Elizabeth Balof as Florence Unger and Erin Beck as Olive Madison play the lead roles in this show. The cast is rounded out with Grace Murray (Sylvie), Jenna Cox (Mickey), Leah Ruthven (Renee), Zoey Green (Vera), Dalton Lopez (Manolo Costazuela) and Daniel Balof (Jesus Costazuela).
