The WWCS Building and Grounds Committee reports to WWCS Board of Directors.  This committee provides oversight for the physical plant including maintenance of existing facilities and property while planning for new renovation/construction as needed. 

Tasks of the Buildings and Grounds Committee include: 

1. Developing a master facilities and maintenance plan and space assessment that guides and assists with facilities management. 
2. Overseeing an effective plan for preventive maintenance. 
3. In collaboration with the Safety Committee review safety, fire and health code inspection results and ensure that concerns are addressed. 
4. Developing, reviewing and ensuring implementation of policies regarding soliciting bids and/or contracts for capital improvements. 
5. Reviewing facilities use guidelines and policies for use of facilities by outside groups. 
6. Reviewing and participating in communication with the annual equipment and maintenance budget to assist with scope and sequence of long term capital improvement projects.

The WWCS Catholic Identity Committee is made up of faculty, parents, and community members who advise the administration and school board to foster faith growth among the staff, and families within and outside the classroom. This includes reviewing and suggesting sacramental and spiritual opportunities for the students during the day and faith formation for families throughout the year. The Committee encourages and facilitates collaboration between WWCS and the Tri-parish community for various faith-based activities throughout the year. The group organizes a limited number of events around liturgical seasons and Catholic Schools Week.

The committee advises the Director of Advancement and in particular is working on creating our leadership team for future Capital Campaign, assisting with community forums, and strategic preparing for the fundraising plan.

The Walla Walla Catholic Schools Finance Committee works with the Finance Director to recommend a yearly budget to the board.

The Walla Walla Catholic Schools Marketing Committee works to promote and share the mission, vision, and successes of WWCS with the community and general public. Additionally, the committee provides invaluable feedback and support in recruitment and enrollment initiatives, communication strategies, and overall marketing and enrollment planning.

The nominating committee solicits and interviews potential board members and presents nominations thereof to the board. It also monitors board terms and committee membership. Traditionally the nominating committee has been composed only of board members.

Description of the Charge of the Policy Committee

• Ensure that policies are aligned with WWCS mission, goals, and practices.
• Ensure that policy development, review, and revision takes place on a regular basis.
• Ensure a comprehensive review of new policy drafts and policy revisions.
• Coordinate the policy review and approval process for the WWCS Board.

The charge of the School Safety Committee shall be to recommend to the administration a comprehensive school safety plan that addresses the safety concerns of WWCS students, staff, and facilities identified through a systematic planning process. 

T The duties and responsibilities of the Committee include:

• Identify and study problems that impact student and staff safety.
• These shall include, but not limited to, School Environment, School Safety Emergency Plans and Protocol, and Facility Safety  

• Review existing safety policies and make recommendations to administration or proper authority for improvement if needed.
• Promote and evaluate safety training and education.
• Collaborate with the Building and Grounds to identify facility safety concerns.

The strategic planning committee exists to provide a quarterly review of the implementation of the current strategic plan, as well as to review data on the current status of the schools and propose to the board any revisions to that plan. We meet every three months as well as engaging in correspondence over email. We would welcome new members, particularly from the parishes.
